Ultrarunner Girl – If you’re interested in tales of running ultras, this is a fab website. Stephanie is a Canadian human rights worker and ultrarunner. She’s also started a charity Free to Run – their mission is to use running, physical fitness and outdoor adventure to empower and educate women and girls who have been affected by conflict – do everything you can to support them. Amazing and inspirational!

The Oatmeal – If you want a good laugh at the real experience of running, this is a site for you. Particular favourites include The Do’s and Do Not’s of running your first marathon and The terrible and wonderful reasons I run long distances. And there are now races with cake where you can beat the blerch. I’d love to hear form anyone who goes along to this. I’m in the UK so a little far to travel – perhaps next year!


101 Cookbooks – Someone bought me Heidi Swanson’s Super Natural Cooking a few years ago for my birthday. I’ll be sharing some of my favourite recipes from her site and the cookbook. Her website is a thing of beauty.

Running and food – all good things!

No meat athlete – Great for those who have or want to move to a plant based diet. While I’m technically a pescetarian, I don’t eat a whole lot of seafood and most of what I eat is vegetarian or vegan as you’ll see from the recipes.
